  What is Changing: While the vast majority of alumni and retired Bruins are under the email "g.ucla.edu" storage quotas, several accounts exceed the future storage capacity.

  UCLA’s current storage significantly exceeds the new model’s limits, and as a result, UCLA will need to reduce its Google Workspace storage to ensure uninterrupted service and cost-effectiveness. An option for those who require additional storage and are eligible 

  Google Workspace for Education storage is comprised of any data in UCLA Personal "g" Drives, Gmail and Photos, and Shared Accounts for all affiliate groups using the UCLA campus environment. 

  Retirees, Emeriti and those on Recall are affected.

  Retirees: In June, retirees will have a Permanent Baseline Quota of 5GB in UCLA’s Google Workspace instance. This limit applies to your Google Mail account; note that UCLA Google Workspace services will be limited to only Google Mail starting June 27, 2024.

  Emeriti: A temporary one-year extension is available until June 2025 for research-related personal drive data storage for emeriti set at slightly above current usage. While the extension is underway, emeriti are asked to continue to reduce their storage use.​

  The Sylvia Winstein UCLA Emeriti and Retiree Arts & Crafts Exhibit will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2024 in the Morrison Room at the UCLA Faculty Club from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  This will be the first joint exhibit sponsored together by the two organizations, with 20+ emeriti and retiree artists exhibiting their work. 

  The works are in a wide range of media from photography, drawing and painting to sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, weaving and calligraphy.  Featured artists are Michelle Shin, a landscape painter representing the Retiree Association, and Jill Waterman, a watercolor artist from the Emeriti Association. Please join us as all of these passionate artists share their work.

  Parking: The closest general parking is in Parking Structure 2. Remember to use your retiree/emeriti parking permit if you have one. Emeriti and retirees with disabled permits may park in parking lot A, adjacent to the Faculty Center.

  Should we be excited about artificial intelligence, or terrified, or both? The Emeriti and Retirees Associations invite you to a stimulating UCLA Conversation on “Implications of Artificial Intelligence” with Christopher Kelty, a UCLA professor in the Institute for Society and Genetics and the departments of Information Studies and Anthropology, and director of the Livescu Initiative on Neuro, Narrative and AI, and Daniel Snelson, a UCLA assistant professor of English and design and a writer, editor and archivist. They will discuss with Stuart Wolpert topics including how AI may impact creativity, art, culture, education, jobs and more.
