Checks for campus causes

Our ORGANIZATIONAL impact

Scholarships and Campus Causes

Once upon a time, all retirees were UCLA staff. We remember what it means to get a helping hand. So UCLARA annually funds Staff Scholarships to help individuals grow and thrive in their careers.

UCLARA also supports campus causes such as the Bruin Resource Center, Food Closet, Essential Needs, Transfer Students and Bruin Guardian Scholars. In past years we have made donations to the Emergency Crisis Response Team and Student Technology Campaign. (The photos above show Board member Al Aubin and President Judith Tuch presenting checks to campus units.)

Advocating for Retirees

Working with CUCRA, the Council of University of California Retiree Associations, we represent the needs of retirees to the University.

Advocating for the University

UCLARA’s Campus and Community Relations Committee works with UCLA’s Office of Government and Community Relations and other campus entities to ensure members are kept informed about current legislation that affects the UC system. UCLARA members also take part in UC in Sacramento Day and UC in Downtown LA Day. Please contact us to learn how to get involved and to offer your feedback or recommendations.

Mentorship and Volunteering

UCLARA is actively engaged in campus programs to mentor staff employees, sharing professional acumen, expertise and life lessons. Many of our members also volunteer for UCLA and in the community.
