Mrs. Carol Block invites UCLA retirees to the UCLA Chancellor’s Residence for a violin recital by Priyanka Venkatesh, followed by a brief reception. You have been invited to attend this event in appreciation of your hard work and dedication to UCLA.
From a young age, Priyanka Venkatesh displayed a natural ability for the violin which led her to eventually become co-concertmaster of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra in Orange County and also to win its annual Concerto Competition. She majored in Violin Performance at Stanford University and completed her Master of Fine Arts degree at UC Irvine under full scholarship. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at UCLA. Click here to watch her play.
Ms. Venkatesh will be accompanied on piano by Dr. James Lent.
Mrs. Block’s Spring Recital Series is now in its eleventh year of recognizing groups from across campus and showcasing student musicians at UCLA. The recitals provide an opportunity for you to relax and enjoy world-class music in the intimacy of the university residence; it is a truly unique experience, and we hope that you will let us treat you to this well-deserved break.
This event is open to retired UCLA faculty and staff and one guest. Space is limited and reservations are booked on a first-come-first-served basis.
