After a three-year hiatus, the UCLA retiree/emeriti picnic is returning. This popular event will feature a menu of sandwiches and salads from Mendocino Farms and cookies from Belmont Village, fun activities and door prizes. Several retiree service providers, including Health Net, Kaiser, Anthem, Fidelity, University Credit Union, Belmont Village Senior Living and the Botanical Garden Foundation will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about their organizations.
The picnic is co-sponsored by the Emeriti/Retirees Relations Center, the UCLA Retirees Association and the UCLA Emeriti Association.
Location: The La Kretz Pavilion is just inside the Botanical Garden's main gate, which is located just south of the intersection of Tiverton and Charles E. Young Drives.
Optional walking tours: at 1:30 p.m., docents will lead tours of the garden. Participants will explore a living museum that is home to unique collections of plants from around the world. Learn about the diverse plants and animals that live in this urban oasis, as well as its history and plans for the future. We’ll hear the stories of a selection of plants in the garden, and their relevance to human society.
