UCLARA HIKERS AT WILL ROGERS INSPIRATION POINT
You are invited to join the UCLARA for a hike in Will Rogers State Historic Park. We will walk one mile on a wide trail with a gradual climb to Inspiration Point and one mile back. Please wear sensible, closed-toe shoes (walking-, running-, hiking-type shoes). Bring your own water and, if needed, a light snack. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and a hat.
Hike Rating: Moderately Challenging: Approximately one and one-half hours or less on the trail.

Directions: From UCLA travel west on Sunset Blvd., turn right at Will Rogers State Park Road.
Parking: Option 1: you may still be able to park free by turning left from Will Rogers State Park Road onto Villa Woods Drive, a residential street, then walk less than a quarter mile up the road to our parking/meeting area. (Be sure to check the street signs to confirm that parking is still allowed on Villa Woods Drive since parking access can change.)
Option 2: pay $11 (the senior rate) at the ranger kiosk and park in the lot in front of the Will Rogers Ranch House lawn and polo field. Your parking fee helps support the Will Rogers State Park. Liz Taylor and Sheena Ricchio will meet you in front of the Ranch House lawn (the second parking area on the left).
During the week, the ranger may not be at the kiosk, so please deposit the $11 parking fee in the "Pay Station" and put the permit on your car dashboard before you begin the hike. If the parking fee is not paid and the permit is not displayed, you will be subject to a citation. Please note: you can pay with cash or credit card, no change is given.
Note: The hike begins at 9 AM. As a courtesy to other hikers please arrive on time. Liz Taylor will email you if rain cancels the hike.
After the Hike: Those who want coffee, breakfast, or lunch can drive a mile or so west on Sunset Blvd. to Cafe Vida, 15317 Antioch St., Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. A Starbucks, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Noah's Bagels are also nearby on Sunset Blvd.
Emergency Contact: The UCLARA requires that you list an emergency contact and telephone number for both you and your guest when you register.
Registration: Please register no later than Saturday, April 22, 2018. This day trip is open to UCLARA and UCLA Emerti Association members and their guests. Join today to participate.
