Los Angeles enjoys one of the most pleasant climates on earth. Our Mediterranean climate is changing. Scientists forecast higher temperatures for the region, as well as deeper and more prolonged droughts, more intense flooding, extreme wildfires and rising ocean levels. Not all is doom and gloom -- there are steps we can take today to address the climate crisis here in Southern California.

Speaker: Jonathan Parfrey directs Climate Resolve, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization focusing on preparing California for climate impacts as well as reducing the state's contribution to the climate problem.

The UCLA Emeriti Association and the UCLA Retirees Association (UCLARA) are both all-volunteer organizations that advocate for UCLA's retired faculty/staff and plan programs for their members. Support their advocacy efforts by joining or renewing your membership. Membership forms will be available at the program.
