A VISIT TO LOTUSLAND
Ganna Walska, a well-known Polish opera singer and socialite, purchased the Montecito, California estate in 1941 and spent the next 43 years creating Lotusland, which is now recognized as one of the ten best gardens in the world. Join the UCLA Retirees on a special visit to see the spectacular collections of exotic plants throughout the 37-acre property. Madame Walska had a penchant for dramatic expression. We will be treated to the "extraordinary" around every corner! And, the water lilies will be in bloom.
Please note: This event has now been increased to 47 participants. It is NOW open to UCLA Retirees Association members and one guest and to Emeriti Association members and one guest.
Cost for UCLARA Member and Member Partner/Spouse OR Emeriti Member and Member Partner/Spouse is $44.00 per ticket.
Cost for non-member partner/spouse of UCLARA member or Emeriti member is $49.00 per ticket.
Lunch is not included in the cost. You will have a choice of two restaurants at our lunch stop in Carpenteria.
PLEASE RSVP no later than Wednesday, June 20, 2018. This is a popular destination in the summer and tickets sell out early.
Cancellation Policy: If a cancellation is necessary, a full refund will be given if the cancellation is requested by Wednesday, June 20, 2018. For any cancellations after June 20, 2018, a full refund will be given only if a person on the waiting list can take the space.
At Lotusland: Our docent-led tour lasts 1 ½ hours so be sure to wear comfortable, flat shoes and bring a hat. There will be a considerable amount of walking.
Transportation: We will travel by bus to Lotusland with a stop in Carpenteria for a quick lunch before our tour begins. The bus will depart promptly at 9:30 am from Los Liones Drive in Pacific Palisades. Directions are as follows:
From Pacific Coast Highway heading north, turn right onto Sunset Blvd in Pacific Palisades. At the second stoplight, turn left onto Los Liones Drive. Continue to the top of the hill and park on the street. Parking is free.

From UCLA take Sunset Blvd to Los Liones Drive in Pacific Palisades. Turn right and proceed to the top of the hill and park on the street. Parking is free.
