Research shows that lifelong learning keeps your brain healthy and your mind sharp. The PLATO Society of Los Angeles, named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the finest lifelong learning communities in the country, is a peer-led group of mostly retired or semi-retired members who meet to share knowledge on an unlimited range of topics. During this lively presentation, which will include a video and panel discussion, you will learn more about the group’s learning activities, numerous extra-curricular events, and how you can join this vibrant group of curious individuals.
Panelists include John McDonogh (former Dean of UCLA's Anderson School), Fred McLane (President of PLATO Society and former lawyer), Nancy Bott (Past-President of PLATO Society and former accountant), Joyce Campbell (former journalist and KUSC interviewer) and Henry Minami (former engineer). Other members of the PLATO Society will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
The UCLA Emeriti Association and the UCLA Retirees Association (UCLARA) are both all-volunteer organizations that advocate for UCLA's retired faculty/staff and plan programs for their members. Support their advocacy efforts by joining or renewing your membership. Membership forms will be available at the program.
