Join the UCLARA Hiking Interest Group for a hike of the Baldwin Hills Overlook on Monday, April 22, at 9:30 am!
This is an easy to moderate hike. We will meet at the entrance of the park at Jefferson Blvd and Hetzler Road, ready to hike at 9:30 am.
We will hike up the main Hillside Trail, continue to the Stoneview Nature Center, and then retrace our steps back down to Jefferson Blvd. Along the way we’ll stop at the Overlook to take in the view and catch our breath. On a clear day, you can see from Palos Verdes to Mount Baldy. It’s one of the best views in the L.A. area!
The trail is well marked and quite steep in some sections. Parts of the trail are paved and other parts are compacted dirt. It is a little over two miles long in total and should not take more than 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the speed of the group. Be sure to bring water, a hat, and any snacks you may want, and wear sunscreen. Special hiking shoes are not necessary. Regular athletic shoes will be fine. Directions: The main entrance to the park and the beginning of the trail is at 6300 Hetzler Road at Jefferson Blvd in Culver City. The park is accessible via the 10 and 405 freeways.
Parking: There is plenty of free parking along Jefferson Blvd.
Please do NOT park in the Baldwin Hills Upper Parking Lot at the top of the park or you will have to walk down the hill to meet us and then walk back up again. And there are fees to park there as well.
Note: The hike begins at 9:30am. As a courtesy to other hikers please arrive on time.

Registration: Please register no later than Saturday, April 20, 2019. This hike is open to UCLARA and UCLA Emeriti Association members and their guests. Join today to participate.
