He is the newly appointed associate dean of the school of music who is in charge of the extensive jazz program. The program will feature students from the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance performing various pieces, introducing themselves for a Q and A after he gives some introductory remarks about the program.
The UCLA Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra uses the jazz big band format plus several Latin percussion instruments and is designed for students in the Global Jazz Studies IDP. This class helps students to fulfill the global jazz studies degree requirements and is designed to train the students to become professional jazz musicians.
