WELCOME TO CASA AZUL, THE LIFELONG HOME OF FRIDA KAHLO

Join the Retirees on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00 am for a virtual tour of the Casa Azul.

What better way to spend tax day than at Frida's lifelong home, Casa Azul (Blue House), the setting for many of her iconic, painted self-portraits.  And many photographs of the famous artist show her at home in the patio garden and at work in her studio.  The Casa Azul was built by her father Guillermo Kahlo in the agrarian village of Coyoacan in 1903.  Frida lived most of her life here, first with her family and then with Diego Rivera. Now Coyoacan is a suburb of the sprawling Mexico City.  Yet in spite of the urban sprawl, the charm and magnetic appeal of Frida's hometown remains palpable.

Immerse yourself in the life and art of Frida with Clare Kunny as our guide. Previously Clare has led us on a wondrous tour of Barcelona and a journey to Monet’s gardens at Giverny. You can visit her website at artmusela.com.
