Join us on a virtual journey as we explore Cuban-American art. The Cuban diaspora offers a rich cultural history, vibrant emerging artists, and a dynamic space in the global art world. In this virtual program, Ross Karlan, Art Muse LA, will explore a number of Cuban and Cuban-American artists who have bridged the gap between the two nations, with a particular focus on artists working in Miami. With only 90 miles of distance, yet worlds apart, Cuba and Miami’s unique relationship and blended histories offers a unique perspective to understanding the works of many of these diasporic artists. This program will also take into consideration Miami's growing art scene and the role of international fairs like Art Basel Miami Beach and the Havana Biennial.

Since the start of the Pandemic, Art Muse LA has taken the retirees on many virtual visits including Giverny, Mexico City, and Barcelona. Ross Karlan is Director of Art Muse LA in Miami. With his background in Spanish, Portugese, and Latin American art, literature and culture, he is the perfeect guide to explore Cuban-American art.

No plane, train, or bus tickets necessary. Sit back in your favorite easy chair and join us for another virtual adventure on Thursday, March 16 at 11am via Zoom. This will be a per household event so you can have as many gather around your screen as you can safely accommodate. The Zoom link will be provided a few days before the presentation.
