Day Hike to Griffith Park Observatory

Join us on Wed, March 22, at 11:00, for a 2.5 mile round trip loop hike from Ferndell to the Griffith Park Observatory. It’s an easy hike with broad dirt trails. There is one quarter mile section that is quite steep with great views, and  if it rains before the hike, it might be muddy in a small section of Ferndell. 

Once we get to the Observatory, people will have an hour to wander around inside and see some of the exhibits and marvel at the views of Los Angeles, the snow-capped San Gabriel Mountains. At 1:00, we’ll walk back down to our cars. On the way we will pass the small Trails Cafe where you can get drinks, delicious baked goods, sandwiches and salads that you can eat at nearby picnic tables or take home.

The COVID safety guidelines are continuing to change. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. Masking and vaccination records are not required at this time, but it is recommended that you mask up while indoors.
