The UCLA Retirees Association and the UCLA Faculty Women’s Club are delighted to invite you to a “museum hop” at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art followed by a no-host lunch. Mark your calendars for August 4, 2023 at 11am.
Come tour Light, Space and Surface: Selections from LACMA’s Collection. This one-hour docent-led tour will explore the works of a loose-knit group of Southern California artists who pushed the boundaries of making art during the 1950s and 1960s. Many used newly invented industrial materials including sheet acrylic, fiberglass, and polyester resin—in their work. There is no cost for the tour.
The tour will gather on the Smidt Welcome Plaza at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (5905 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036) at 10:45am. A no-host lunch will follow immediately at Fanny’s which is located in the Motion Picture Academy Museum, just a short walk from LACMA.
Space is quite limited to 20 (total) UCLARA and Faculty Women’s Club members. Register by July 28, 2023. After July 12, 2023, registration will be open until the limit of 20 is reached. (If the 20 count is reached before July 28, 2023, registration will be closed.)

Parking: Self-serve parking is available in the Pritzker Parking Garage on 6th Street, just east of Fairfax Ave. The cost is $20 paid at a pay station in the parking lot. Metered parking is available along Wilshire Blvd. and 6th Street.
