Day Hike to Escondido Falls

Join us on Friday, Sept. 22, 9:00 am for a hike to Escondido Falls. This is a moderately challenging 3.5 mile out and back trail in a Malibu canyon which will probably take 2-2.5 hours.
After beginning the hike on neighborhood streets, you'll walk downhill into the canyon encountering several shallow creek crossings. There may also be some muddy sections. At the end of the canyon we'll get to see a waterfall and a small pool. (FYI, the return to the parking area is uphill.)

Escondido Falls is about 150ft high and is one of the tallest in SoCal.  A lot of the trail is without shade-so be sure to bring sunscreen, a hat, water and a snack.  Attendance is limited to 20 hikers.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING:

27200 Winding Way E, Malibu, CA 90265-for your GPS.   There is a small parking lot with a $12 fee, but there is plenty of free parking on PCH. 

You will need to provide an emergency contact and their cell phone number when you register to attend this hike.
