The Virginia Robinson Gardens is a unique historic estate Nestled behind the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. Built in 1911 by Virginia and Harry Robinson of the JWR Robinson Co. Department Store, it was the first luxury estate built in Beverly Hills and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Join us for a visit to this beautiful six-acre property and its breathtaking display garden, mansion, and pool pavilion. The estate features awe-inspiring Australian King Palm Forest, the bucolic Rose Garden, and a tranquil Italian Terrace.
Mrs. Robinson was known as the first lady of Beverly Hills, and her triumphs as a hostess are legendary: her diverse guests included royalty such as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor to Hollywood stars like Marlene Dietrich and Fred Astaire; her neighbors were Glenn Ford, Lillian Disney, and Elvis Presley. She sipped champagne cocktails with Sophia Loren and challenged Charlie Chaplin to a spirited game of tennis - all with her signature elegance and class. Parking: Parking is at no cost at the Gardens. Car pooling is encouraged.
Registration: This event is open to UCLARA members and one guest only from Mon. 1.27.25-2.14.25. Beginning Fri. 2.14.25-Sat. 2.22.25, this event will be open to both UCLARA, FWC and Emeriti members and guests (1 guest per registration) Total registration is limited to 30. Those registering after that count will be placed on the waitlist.

Registration: There is cost for the tour-$11 per person (registrant or guest); but tour size is limited to 30 and registration is required. Payment is due at the time of registration-either on line with a credit card or by check (made out to "UCLA RA" and mailed to the ERRC at 1116 Rolfe Hall, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1437.
Cancellation: No cancellations after Thur. 2.20.25 unless your spot can be filled from the wait list. Refunds will be given if your cancellation is 1 week before the event. No refunds will be given within 1 week of the event.
