Come and participate in a fascinating and imminently humorous reveal of a multitude of artists whose art is within the Getty Collection.
The Pleasures of the Table
Food...It's so much more than sustenance, especially in art. It can be a feast for the eyes. Through the Getty Collection, come explore how provisions have been portrayed in art throughout the centuries. There will be some interesting insights in the symbolism of food and we will look at serving dishes and vessels and how they have been portrayed in art in particularly still life paintings.
Our speaker, Ms. Lee Rubenstein, is a most active and entertaining lecturer. She holds dual degrees in English and History with a minor in Art History. She has been leading gallery tours for students at the Getty since 2012. In addition, she created and runs a volunteer art program in a Title I school.
This is a per-household event, so you can have as many persons gather around your screen as you can safely and comfortably accommodate. But you must register to receive the ZOOM link-which will be sent out to only those who register. That link will be sent out via email a few days in advance of the lecture. Kindly make sure that you use the correct email when registering.
There is no charge to attend this program.
