Tour of Getty Center’s Gardens and Architecture
The Getty Center, in Los Angeles, is a campus of the Getty Museum and other programs of the Getty Trust. The $1.3 billion center opened to the public on December 16, 1997, and is well known for its architecture, gardens, and views overlooking Los Angeles.
This is a combined tour of the Getty Center’s environs including the architecture and the gardens of this fabled haven of fine art. Our tour will be hosted by Janet Leader, a member of UCLARA. The tour lasts about an hour and doesn't include any of the current exhibits
Join us for a tour of the Getty Center’s architecture. This tour explores the site’s unique materials and design concepts, and how they interact with their surroundings. You may even find some hidden fossils.
Find harmony in the art and nature of the Getty’s Central Garden. Created by artist Robert Irwin as a multi-sensory experience, it is also the largest registered artwork in the Museum’s collection. Learn about Irwin's vision as you immerse yourself in hundreds of botanical delights.
Please note that the tour is free, but you must register.
AND there is a $25 per car fee for parking. We are listed with the Getty with a Group number. We do encourage car pooling.
Retiree Association members can register now until Oct. 24th. Emeriti Association members can register beginning on Oct. 14 until Oct. 24.
NOTE: allow 30 minutes for bag check and tram travel to get to the Getty Center. So, plan to arrive shortly after 10am (when the Center opens) to check in by 10:45 at the Center’s main entrance.

When: Tuesday October 28, 2025 at 11am. Kindly assemble at the main entrance to the Getty by 10:45 so we can begin promptly at 11am.
Where: the Getty Center. Enter off Sepulveda Blvd to access the parking lot.
