The Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles one of our city's gems. Filled with contemporary art from the collection of the late Eli Broad, the building is an architectural marvel and the works inside include artists such as Jeff Koons, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jasper Johns and other well known contemporary artists. But the Broads also collected artists just beginning their journeys. Eli had a keen eye and there are quite a few surprises in the collection. We will look at highlights of the collection and also focus on the structure itself. You'll also learn a bit about Eli Broad, the son of Lithuanian immigrants who parlayed $12,500 into billions.
