"The Beach House" was designed by Julia Morgan, renowned California architect who designed San Simeon for Wm. Randolph Hearst. Hearst asked Morgan to design and build a home (deemed the "Versailles of the West") for his paramour, Marion Davies-film starlet, while San Simeon was in construction. The only part of this 110 room mansion that remains is the "guest house" (shown above) and is the location of our tour.
