“Fall Prevention & Healthy Aging Program”
The ERRC Cares Program Series is an initiative we implemented 2020. This series focuses on health, wellness, physical and mental well-being, and important self-care needs.
Please join us virtually for a Zoom program with our guest webinar lecturer, Dr. Lakelyn Eichenberger as she leads a discussion focused on fall prevention, maintaining independence, and supporting healthy aging. Our guest speaker will share practical strategies and resources to help older dulls reduce their risk of falls and feel more confident in their everyday activities.
This Age-Friendly initiative is designed to support older adults, caregivers, and community members through education, early awareness, and connection to resources. Participants will learn practical, evidence-informed strategies for preventing falls, creating safer environment, and promoting independence as we age. To learn more about how the ERRC is putting the 10 Principles of an Age-Friendly University into practice.
This program advances UCLA’s Age-Friendly University Principles by expanding older adults’ access to health and wellness education (Principle 8), engaging UCLA’s retired community (Principle 9), and providing an accessible online learning opportunity (Principle 1 and 5).
Participants will learn how to:
- Reduce the risk of falls through practical, everyday strategies
- Identify common fall hazards and ways to create a safer environment
- Support balance, mobility, and physical independence
- Incorporate healthy aging practices into daily life
- Connect with resources that promote safety and independence

Our speaker, Lakelyn Eichenberger, Ph.D. is a gerontologist and caregiving advocate with Home Instead, an Honor Company, who educates professionals, families, and communities on aging challenges and resources.
