Day Hike to Escondido Falls

Join us on Monday Oct. 19, 9:00 am for a hike to Escondido Falls sponsored by the UCLA Retirees Association. This is a moderately challenging 3.5 mile out and back trail in a Malibu canyon which will probably take 2-2.5 hours.
After beginning the hike up through neighborhood streets, we'll walk downhill into the canyon encountering several shallow creek crossings. There may also be some muddy sections due to water crossings. (we chose to do this hike before the rainy season begins on purpose). At the end of the canyon we'll get to see a waterfall and a small pool. (FYI, the return to the parking area is uphill and then down.)

Escondido Falls is about 150ft high and is one of the tallest in SoCal.  A lot of the trail is without shade-so be sure to bring sunscreen, a hat, water and a snack.  Attendance is limited to 20 hikers.

You will need to provide an emergency contact and their cell phone number for yourself and any guest you bring along when you register to attend this hike.

Further information will be emailed to the registrants a few days in advance of the hike.
