    "Empowering Retirees, Connecting Generations"

Join us for the official launch of our new Digital Literacy Program, where student volunteers will help older adults gain confidence using today’s technology.

Due to popular demand and the busy schedules of our students, we have switched to a rolling enrollment model.

Office 1116 at Rolfe Hall is located on the south campus of UCLA (behind Royce Hall).

    What to Expect:

    • Meet-and-greet with student volunteers & senior learners

    • Live tech demonstrations

    • Sign-up stations for one-on-one tech help

    • Opportunity to join the program as a volunteer or participant

Click here to see the Campus Parking Map. Parking is available in Parking Structure 5 (P5), which has hourly self-pay parking stations.

    • 135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012

Sir John Falstaff finds himself a bit short on cash, so he hatches a scheme: seduce two merry (and wealthy) wives of Windsor and live out his days in luxury. Too bad this bumbling knight happened to send both his targets the same love letter! Now Alice Ford and Meg Page are set on teaching Falstaff a lesson, and it's not long before a long list of his adversaries join in. Audiences are in for a whirlwind of disguises and deceptions, and maybe even an unexpected dip in the River Thames.

Longtime company favorite Craig Colclough stars as the boastful Falstaff, leading a brilliant ensemble cast that includes Nicole Heaston, Ernesto Petti and Hyona Kim among the pranksters all too happy to take the errant knight down a peg, with Deanna Breiwick and Anthony LeĂłn as the young lovers desperate to steal a private moment to themselves among the madness. This classic comedy gets an equally classic staging by Lee Blakeley, with atmospheric sets and sumptuous period costumes designed by Adrian Linford.

UCLA's Lost Bridge: "Bridging UCLA's Past and Present"

Facilitated by the UCLA Emeriti/Retirees Relations Center

**This tour requires step climbing and moderate walking. Group will meet at the UCLA Flagpoles at Dickson Plaza at 1:15 PM. The tour starts at 1:30 PM and will last 45 minutes, with an additional 15 minutes for Q&A.

Rather than a figurative “north” and “south” campus that prevails today, in its youthful stage, UCLA was divided into east and west sides. A five-story deep ravine separated the young campus, and it was the Arroyo Bridge that brought students into the campus as Powell and Royce Hall towered in the background. However, it was what occurred down at the base of and in the bridge that was the most significant aspect of this erased history.

Hidden beneath the roadway lies the first structure ever built on campus: the Arroyo Bridge. Constructed in 1927 in the style of a Roman aqueduct, the bridge spans 285 feet in length and 75 feet in width, crossing what was once a deep arroyo. As UCLA expanded, the ravine came to be seen as an obstacle to the campus’s growth. To address this, workers reinforced the bridge with concrete retaining walls and filled in the arroyo, transforming the area into usable land and adding 24 acres to the campus.

Over its twenty-year history, from May 1927 to the summer of 1947, the brick-slabbed Arroyo Bridge played a vital role during the Great Depression and in shaping the foundations of the UCLA that exists today.

The tour will take place beneath Dickson Plaza, under the historic Arroyo Bridge near the UCLA flagpole, between Royce Hall and Powell Library.

Click here to see the Campus Parking Map. The closest visitor parking to the Flagpoles at Dickson Plaza is Parking Structure 4 (P4), with Parking Structure 5 (P5) as a nearby alternative. Both offer hourly self-pay parking and are within easy walking distance.

To the Artists Among Us - Art for Fire Survivor Project

A year ago, devastating fires destroyed both the Palisades and Altadena communities.  Most residents lost everything and others whose home still stand had to throw out most furnishings, clothing, and other porous items, including pictures and artifacts which they have collected over the years.

The UCLA Emeriti Association, through its Arts and Crafts Exhibit Committee has extended its activities to establish the Art for Fire Survivor Project, for sharing artwork which you may wish to contribute to the fire survivors to brighten their environment, as they recover and heal from an experience which none of them expected.

If you would like to participate and contribute one or more pieces of your artwork to be given to fire survivors, please email jpermaul@saonet.ucla.edu

The sun rises over UCLA's beautiful campus and residential buildings.

Please join us for a special in-person tour and lunch hosted by UCLA Housing!

Home to a diverse community of more than 14,000 undergraduates, UCLA’s residential communities offer students convenient access to campus resources and countless opportunities for engagement. Research consistently shows that students who live on campus perform better academically, interact more frequently with faculty, and report greater satisfaction with their overall college experience compared to students who commute.

The experience will begin with a visit to the undergraduate residential community on “The Hill” located near the Carnesale Commons area. Guests will have the opportunity to step inside one of UCLA’s residence halls and see firsthand where students live, study, and build community.

Please note that the residence halls are located on "The Hill," which requires moderate walking and some step climbing; therefore, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. The residence hall tour will conclude at approximately 12:15 p.m., followed by lunch at Bruin Plate, located in the Carnesale Commons building within UCLA’s residential area. Lunch will be provided courtesy of UCLA Housing.

Parking Information: The closest general parking is Lot SV and Lot 11. Parking Lot SV (Sunset Village) and Lot 11.
